Description

Messages sent in a chat are not reflected in real-time on the chat screen. Users need to refresh the page or reopen the chat to see new messages. Additionally, the chat status always shows “Disconnected”, indicating a possible issue with real-time connectivity.

Environment
URL: https://dev.akinderwellness.com/pages/chat
Module: Chat
Role: Super Admin (David)
Browser: Chrome (Windows 10)
Date: 25 March 2026

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Chat module
  2. Open any group chat (e.g., newgroup)
  3. Send a message from one user
  4. Observe the chat screen from another user or same session
  5. Do not refresh the page

Actual Result
New messages do not appear instantly
Messages only show after: Refreshing the page OR Reopening the chat
Chat status shows “Disconnected”

Expected Result
Messages should appear instantly (real-time) without refresh
Chat should maintain a stable connected state
